Exterior Wood Doors

Building a new house can be a stressful process, as my husband and I quickly found out. Deciding on what type of house we wanted was the easy part. Even though the building process went relatively smoothly, deciding on the interior décor of our new home was a whole different ball game.

My husband and I soon ran into our first argument over what kind of exterior doors to have installed. My husband wanted more traditional doors while I wanted something that was more unique to make the house stand out from the other homes in our neighborhood. This became an important decision to both of us.

After much debating and research on what style of exterior wood doors would look the best on our new home, our contractor suggested a mahogany door. Following his advice, my husband and I decided that the contractor’s suggestion was the right choice. Finally we had agreed upon at least the type of wood that we wanted the doors to be!

The style of the front doors was our next step. The front doors we decided upon were the TDL 10-light with sidelights and transom with insulated beveled glass. We all agreed this would make the entryway to our new home unique yet still look somewhat traditional. It was a win-win situation.

As soon as our new exterior mahogany doors were installed, we knew we had made the right choice. The house started to become a reflection of our individual tastes. The uniqueness of the design of the doors made our new home stand out in the neighborhood.

The interior doors that we choose for our new home were the horizontal five panel doors. These stylish doors complimented all the wood trim in our newly built home. The contractor said these were the easiest to install and would take no time at all. He was right. Before we knew it the new house had all the doors installed and we were ready to move in to our custom built home.

After purchasing the doors from Homestead Interior Doors, my husband and I have gotten several compliments on how beautiful they look. Now many of our friends that are building new homes are also purchasing doors from Homestead Interior Doors. This is one of the best purchases that we have made since deciding to build a custom home.

Spice Up Your Space!

Whenever you think about home décor, you likely consider wall colors, furniture, floor covering, window treatments and accessories, but we can bet you’ve overlooked one of the important aspects of home design that usually overlooked by everyone! This one design component is the interior door.

We usually just assume that a door is a door and we walk through them without paying them any mind, we simply overlook the idea of putting some design sense into the appearance of the interior (or exterior) door. There are lots of options for door design and you’ll be surprised at the impact a little door creativity can have on the appearance of your space. One option is, of course, to paint the door. But there are a few better options. Choosing a decorative interior door can add a beauty and uniqueness to any room.

So many interior doors are one of two styles: the classic six paneled and the solid, smooth wooden finish. However, interior doors do not have to be plain and boring. There are a number of different panel options. You may choose a door with a modern and eastern feel featuring eight panels. Or you can choose doors that actually have a curved design as a part of the paneling structure. There are doors available with three, four, or even five panels. These small differences make a large impact when most people are used to the two basic styles.

Choose from interior doors with glass and frosted glass panels. These panels can include designs and etchings, making them stand out. Or perhaps you prefer Louvered doors. Louvered doors aren’t just for closets anymore and they can make a fun entrance into a hallway. Maybe you’d like swinging doors. Swinging bar style doors are a fun way to make a splash in a casual dining room or den. And, for a formal look, French doors make an elegant impact leading into a formal room or a dining room.

No matter what you’re searching for, you can find it all online. That’s right, all the options in the world are right at your fingertips without ever having to leave the comfort of your own home. Don’t settle for plain when you can spice up your space with WOW!
